Zombie Incidents in New South Wales

A Decade in Review (2015–2025)

2015 — The Bega Bakery Shuffle
An early-morning “customer” at a Bega bakery was found moaning incoherently and attempting to pay for a custard tart with an old VHS cassette. Declared “patient zero” by local tabloids, he later admitted to having an obsession with eating road kill.

2016 — The Dubbo Slow Chase
Three zombies disrupted the Dubbo fun run, staggering onto the course and attempting to “infect” runners by biting them. These slow-moving zombies were easily outrun by the real runners and were not seen again.

2017 — Newcastle Harbour Incident
Police were called to investigate reports of “floating zombies” in Newcastle Harbour. Unfortunately the police launch sunk before it could get to the place where the zombies were sighted.

2019 — Sydney Zombie Tram Jam
Late-hour light rail services were halted after a number of zombies boarded without Opal cards. The passengers were able to exit the carriage before being bitten and the automatic train departed. Traces of zombie slime were found in the carriage when the train reached the terminal.

2021 — Tamworth Undead
Tamworth's famous Country and Music Festival was disrupted by reports of a zombie attack. Country music fans in the area attempted to leave on foot but were overrun by the zombie crowd. When police arrived, it was impossible to tell the difference between zombies and C&W music lovers.

2025 — Coffs Harbour Beach Walkers
Beach goers reported several zombies in the surf early one morning however as the light was poor, the police dismissed the reports, claiming that the zombies were in fact elderly surfers in tatty wetsuits.
